"We discovered that education is not what the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being."
Coming in the Fall of 2020, Lupine Montessori School is excited to offer the only Elementary Montessori program in Northern NH
(north of the notch). Like our Primary Program, our Elementary program is multi-aged and allows students to work independently and in small groups at their own pace.
Cosmic education was the term used by Dr. Montessori to describe the elementary curriculum. The curriculum aids the general development of the child’s understanding of his/her place in and impact on their community and the world at large. The curriculum is rich and includes: Math, language, geography, history, science and literature, music, art and foreign language. The students have time to pursue individual interests as well as attend individual and group lessons to meet learning goals/targets.
Our Elementary program will serve children ages 1st-3rd grade. We plan on expanding one grade level each year.

During the first 3 years of life, your child develops more rapidly than at any other time. During this phase, your child absorbs large amounts of information from the environment through observation and experiences. These are the years that lay the foundation for later learning—and the stronger the foundation; the more the child will be able to build upon it (American Montessori Society).
Combining Montessori methods with early learning standards, Lupine Montessori offers a high quality Toddler Montessori program for children aged 18 months-3 years.. Focus is on developing independence, coordination, concentration and growing socially/emotionally, physically and cognitively.
Teachers create a loving, safe environment where toddlers can explore and work with learning activities that support their growth.
Some learning activities include:
Self-care: washing, dressing, toileting, and eating, according to each child’s individual capacity
Care of the environment: cleaning, food preparation and food service; plant care and animal care
Large-motor activities (indoors and out): walking, climbing, running, jumping, balancing, climbing steps, and more
Fine-motor skills: reaching, grasping, picking up objects, transferring objects, using tools and utensils, doing art work
